Oceania Cruises has recently announced that it will spend $50 million refurbishing its three 684-passenger shipsÔÇö the Regatta, Insignia and Nautica.
Oceania plans to overhaul it suites, staterooms and public spaces, an match the color schemes and decor of the line’s newer ships, the Marina and Riviera. Owner’s and Vista suites will be given new bathrooms, adding new showers and vanities.
The Terrace Cafes will each get a new and improved grill, and the ships will also now incorporate The Baristas coffee bar, currently found only on the Marina and Riviera. The main dining room and Toscana, Oceania’s Italian restaurant, will be expanded to include additional tables for two.
Oceania will also enclose the Horizons observation lounge indoor smoking area, and is installing a new air-filtration system for the space. Show lounges will be made over, and the Canyon Ranch SpaClub for each ship will receive new steam and changing rooms.
The improvements are scheduled from April 24 to June 6, 2014; the Insignia and Nautica will be refurbished in Marseille, France, and the Regatta in Vancouver.
The renovated Insignia will debut on May 8 in Barcelona for a seven-day cruise, the Nautica will debut on May 16 in Civitavecchia, Italy, for a 10-day voyage, and the Regatta sails on June 7 in Vancouver for a 10-day Alaska cruise.
