American Queen Steamboat Company’s loyalty program

If you’re a repeat cruiser, you’ve probably discovered the value of the cruise lines’ loyalty programs. They’re essentially a “thank you” from the cruise lines; the cruise lines appreciate your business, and therefore provide rewards programs for repeat customers. The perks vary from small to quite large, and it’s well worth your time to enroll if you intend to cruise on a particular line again.

To that end, the American Queen Steamboat Company has announced the re-launch of the Paddlewheel Steamboating Society of America loyalty program, which had for many years honored travelers from the Delta Queen, Mississippi Queen and American Queen by providing them with specially arranged insider experiences ashore prior to voyages. The tradition has returned again with the re-launch of the American Queen.

Here’s information from the line:

“When guests reserve the Old Fashioned Holidays cruise aboard the legendary American Queen from December 14 to 21, 2012, they will be invited to a pre-cruise Reunion Celebration in New Orleans from December 12 to 14. The package includes two nights’ accommodations at The Roosevelt New Orleans and a gala cocktail in the hotel’s famed Blue Room. Other exclusive features include brunch at The Court of Two Sisters in the heart of the French Quarter, motorcoach city tour, holiday party at the private residence of Houmas House Plantation owner Kevin Kelly, dinner and dancing with the Dixieland Band at the Palm Court Jazz Caf├® and tour of the WWII Museum.

Upon boarding the American Queen, guests will experience a seven-night New Orleans roundtrip voyage calling on Oak Alley, La.; St. Francisville, La.; Natchez, Miss.; Vicksburg, Miss.; Baton Rouge, La.; and Houmas House, La. The Old Fashioned Holidays fare begins at $1,995 per person, based on double occupancy. In addition to pre-cruise festivities, all shore tours onboard deluxe SteamcoachesSM in all ports are included along with complimentary wine and beer with dinner and a host of other amenities.”

Yet another reason to try a domestic river cruise for your next voyage.
