Hapag-Lloyd’s EUROPA 2 (a 5-star+ cruise ship) offers, as one of it’s many on board amenities, workshops with the Miele Culinary School. Classes are designed to complement destinations; that is, guests can learn about the cuisine they will be experiencing in a very hands on way as they prepare and present them. Lessons focus on special delicacies, like sushi, truffles or foie gras, with special pizza baking sessions on family cruises.
On special “Connoisseurs of Cuisine” cruises, gourmet experts like Michelin-starred chef de cuisine at A-ROSA resorts, Sarah Henke, and Wolfgang Otto of the Otto Gourmet mail order company, offer workshops in the Culinary School – and revealing one or two professional tricks along the way.
The workshop can accommodate up to eight people, are held during the morning on all cruises, and can be booked as an alternative to shore excursions. Participation costs EUR 80 per person and includes accompanying wines, a chef’s apron and recipes.
