Hapag-Lloyd’s Art Collection Onboard the EUROPA 2

For art connoisseurs, a voyage aboard Hapag Lloyds’ luxury ship the EUROPA 2 is an experience for the senses. All works in the EUROPA 2 art collection were compiled by curators from International Corporate Art (ICA), and artists and gallery owners are onboard every voyage to discuss the words with guests. An art tour is also held on every cruise.

The contemporary focus of the more than 890 art pieces onboard matches the design of the ship, and includes works by Gerhard Richter, Ólafur Elíasson, David Hockney, Damien Hirst, Adam Fuss and Hans Hartung.

You’ll also find pieces by Jeppe Hein, Georg K├╝ttinger, Ingrid von Kruse, Eva Hild, Minjung Kim, Cornelius V├Âlker, Rupprecht Mathies, Kubach & Kropp, Tenka Gammelgaard, Christiane Baumgartner and Christian Schoppe- well known young artists from Germany and Europe.

While most of the work can be found in public areas, there are also pieces in suites, such as the Grand Penthouse Suites and the two Owner Suites. Guests in those cabins will encounter works by the British pop-art artist Damien Hirst from his portfolio The Souls I, II, III, IV. Upper suite class guests will also find works by David Hockney, Donald Sultan and Bram van Velde.
