NCL’s new drink package option

It seems there is another line moving toward “all inclusive” – at least where drinks are concerned.

Norwegian Cruise line is currently testing out a beverage package on three of its ships: the Norwegian Sun, Norwegian Gem and Norwegian Jade. The three ships will offer unlimited alcoholic drinks for $49 per person, per day.

In August 2012, the line offered a similar drink package on the Carnival Victory: $42.95 per person per day, for beer, wine, and mixed drinks. A soft drink package was also available and was priced under $10 a day.

This program is being put into place in response to consumer demand; the market appears to be moving toward a more “all-inclusive” pricing structure that limits the amount of cash passengers need to have on hand while cruising.
